“I am an artist who loves the luminosity and translucence of watercolor
and the soft blended colors of pastel. I work to create pieces with vibrant color in a somewhat impressionistic style.”
After gradating with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design from Delaware Valley College in PA I moved to Maryland where I worked for the Soil Conservation District doing field surveying and design. I then moved to Sussex County Delaware where I worked as a conservationist planning erosion and sediment control structures. In 1987 I went back to school, finished a certification in secondary science and a Masters in Biology. I taught middle school biology for nearly 20 years for Cape Henlopen School District.
It was upon retirement in 2006 that I followed my passion for art and began a series of workshops in watercolor, studying with Mary Whyte, Charles Reed, Mel Stabin, Ted Nuttle and Janet Rogers among others. I sit on the board of the Milton Arts Guild and am a member of several guilds in the southern Delaware region. I love to paint all subjects but have a focus on portraits. Presently I am teaching beginning watercolor workshops at the Studios on Walnut in Milton, DE.
